Patient Services Representative Job Opening in Austin, Texas - SUMMARY:
Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective patients as well as insurance company partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A minimum of a High School diploma; some college preferred
Experience:
Preferably 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare industry
DUTIES:
Answer multi-line phone system in a professional and courteous manner within minimum rings.
Communicate with patients, physicians, health care professionals, and community members in a knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful manner.
Explain services provided by MedSpring.
Explain copays, coinsurance, and deductibles for urgent care visits.
Navigate the practice management system to answer patient billing inquiries.
Receive, route, and convey messages in writing, electronically and verbally.
Accept, sort, and distribute Center mail.
Scan, file, and fax documents and prepare them for mail-out.
Attend and participate in periodic staff meetings.
Provide administrative tasks such as responding to emails, making phone calls, typing letters, conducting research, etc.
Assist new associates in training as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to see, hear, and accurately read and write.
Outstanding customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
A positive, energetic, and professional demeanor.
Possess excellent organizational and record keeping skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft software products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Prior experience with eCW strongly preferred.
Type 45 WPM
Ability to work 12 hour shifts, overtime, on-call, weekends, and holidays as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift 15-30 lbs.
Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull and reach; bend; stand for long periods of time; and sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
