Payroll Analyst

Payroll Analyst Job Opening in Houston, Texas - The Payroll Analyst will perform payroll administration, processing, and accounting functions for the company.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist with the administration, processing, and disbursement for the company?s payroll in the United States and Canada
Work closely with the HR department to enter and maintain employee records and other required information in the company?s payroll system
Perform the processing of the company?s bi-weekly and off cycle payrolls as necessary
Ensure proper disbursement of payroll to employees and funding of appropriate tax, garnishment, and employee benefit payments
Function as the liaison with third party payroll processing providers
Prepare required journal entries by converting data from payroll system and entering into accounting system
Prepare monthly variance analysis for corporate accounting
Prepare general ledger account reconciliations each month
Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation and/or information as required * Assist employees with payroll related inquiries
Prepare reports regarding compensation, employee expenses, and other payroll related information as requested

Position Requirements Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
1 ? 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with Ultimate Software/Ultipro Payroll system
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel software

Physical demands & working conditions:
: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form * Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
