Android Developer Job Opening in North Haven, Connecticut - Summary of essential job functions:
Design and develop robust client applications utilizing the Android SDK.
Unit test, secure, and deploy the applications to the Android Market Play Store.
Provide support (Testing, Operations, Deployments, QA and Documentation).
Work closely with project management, support personnel, and other teams.
Rapidly fix bugs and solve pressing problems.
Participate in agile software development methodologies like Scrum.
Work with version control tools like SVN and Subversion and project tracking tools like JIRA in a team setting.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Fundamentals in Object-Oriented Design (OOD), data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
Proficient in programing languages such as core Java, Android SDK, and J2EE.
Proficient in programming fairly complex Android UI XML components/widgets and layouts using LinearLayout, ListView, GridView, Spinner, etc.
Proficient in Android multitask programming using AsyncTasks, Runnables, Handlers, Callbacks, Listeners, etc.
Sound knowledge with SQL/SQLite or any RDBMs.
Familiarity with mobile app database creation and management libraries like SQLiteOpenHelper
Familiarity with Eclipse, Android Studio, or similar IDEs.
Familiarity with Apache Tomcat, Glassfish servers.
Familiarity with Java servlets, Restful API, XML, AJAX.
Preferred Requirements
Minimum 1 year of professional development experience in Android applications.
Developed and deployed at least one Android app to the Android Market Play Store.
Hardware communication projects are strong plus.
