Accounting Manager Job Opening in Jacksonville, Florida - Responsibilities:
Supervises an accounting staff of 4, 1 mail room clerk and a receptionist, including delegation of duties, support and training.
Reconciles General and Trust accounts, including uncleared checks.
Reviews reconciliation reports for payroll and operating accounts.
Reviews accounts receivable and remit reports.
Reviews and audits case files for file closure, non-sufficient funds and remittance errors.
Coordinates year-end purging and packing of accounting records.
Updates and maintains accounting procedures.
Reviews client refund checks.
Responds to accounting related inquiries.
Assists in accepting cash payments from debtors.
Prepares remittances.
Processes refunds to debtors.
Makes recommendations to improve efficiency.
Responsible for break-room vending machine and janitorial needs.
Orders supplies and checks for accounting department as needed.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Assisting any position in the accounting department, as needed, to include reviewing debtor payments, paying Subpoena issue invoices, billing, remittances, payroll and accounts payable/receivables and processing mail.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree required
5 ? 10 years accounting experience (experience with a law firm preferred)
Experience working with trust accounts preferred.
Skills & Qualities:
10-key add by touch.
Organized and efficient, analytical and attentive to detail.
Ability to work well with others and/or independently; good work ethic.
Excellent people skills.
Self motivated; able to supervise and motivate others
Advanced computer skills.
