Cascade Valley Hospital's Emergency Department consists of 16 private treatment rooms including two trauma and resuscitation rooms. We have specialized care areas to treat pediatric and psychiatric patients. It is designated by Washington State as a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III Stroke Center, and Level II Cardiac Center, the Cascade Valley Hospital Emergency Department must undergo a stringent survey process to maintain each designation. These distinctions assure excellence in trauma, stroke, and cardiac care, as well as a highly trained, skilled, and exemplary staff. To provide our community with optimal care we have an affiliation with Harborview Medical Center which ensures our stroke and trauma patients will receive world renowned expertise and care close to home. In addition to our designations we are proud members of the North Region EMS and Trauma Care Council and the Cardiac and Stroke Network.
Essential Functions:
Assists in overseeing the process of patient care of the Emergency Department.
Works closely with other process teams to ensure seamless flow and optimal organizational outcomes in accordance with the strategic plan.
Mentors, develops and coaches the process teams. This is an exempt position.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they relate to the process.
Meets organizational and work unit standards as outlined in policies and procedures.
Performs all job duties in accordance with recognized safety procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to make calm and sensible decisions under various work situations, dealing with immediate problems reasonably.
Models exceptional leadership skills and expects and supports same in others.
Collaboratively designs and continuously improves processes.
Assists in defining customer and organizational requirements.
Assists in establishing outcome measures.
Advocacy-obtains resources.
Coordinates with Chief Nurse Executive to ensure optimal organizational outcomes.
Interfaces with regulatory agencies.
Participates in relevant medical staff committees.
Assist in developing operational and capital budgets.
Assists in investigating, evaluating, and implementing new revenue-generating programs. Participates in cross-process teams.
Assist in assessing, communicating and improving customer satisfaction
QI activities, audits data collection, and criteria development.
Seeks opportunities to design, conduct, and evaluate significant process improvements.
Participates in Professional Practice thinking. Priority Management. Knowledge of CVHC strategic vision and processes.
Interpersonal communication skills and conflict management skills.
Global process knowledge.
Demonstrates responsible use of resources, including time, facilities, supplies, equipment, staff, information, finances, education and developmental assets.
Fiscally responsible, including corporate billing compliance and nursing budgeting.
Closely monitors staffing to meet budget.
Spends education funds responsibly to enhance job performance.
Practices accountable and productive time management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) healthcare provider BLS required.
Washington State RN license.
Three years management experience in a healthcare setting desired.
