Lead QA Tester - Desktop Software Job Opening in los angeles, California - Lead QA Tester - Desktop Software Bluebeam Software, Inc., a software company based in Pasadena, CA, has an immediate need for a Lead QA Tester with 5-10 years experience in a PC software (non-gaming) product environment. We design and develop applications that provide the best-in-class tools for working with PDF files. Our software is based on Microsoft technologies, particularly C# and . The applications we develop place a heavy emphasis on user interface and interactive graphical functionality built for the exacting needs of the architecture, engineering and construction fields. In this QA role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of test procedures and plans. This role will also track, verify and manage any product Our environment is fast-paced, having product delivery cycles measured in months rather than years. You will not be given a 300 page test plan and told to, � implement this.� Instead, you will be given a general task, and it is up to you to construct a path forward, coordinate your resources, and get it done. You will work closely with the other QA team members and with the development staff in a collaborative environment to extend the core functionality of our software, designed and implemented over the past 8 years, to power new products and take existing products to the next level. We are a proactive, positive, tight-knit team with a great sense of humor and passion for our work. Our next team member needs to exhibit these qualities as well as meet the following requirements: Responsibilities: - Create and maintain test scenarios and detailed test plans. - Perform functionality, compatibility, integration, regression, and benchmark testing on Bluebeam�s software products. - Perform system installation and setup for test activities. - Support and expand the software testbed to support expanding product functionality. - Document all encountered bugs, subsequent fixes and verification results in our bug tracking system. - Manage all aspects of a defect tracking, build and release lifecycle. Maintenance of all bug entries in the defect tracking system, preparation of reports and coordination of meetings with the Engineering team. - Participate in design discussions for both new products and on-going enhancements - Design and develop automated testing scripts. Requirements: - 5 or more years experience in desktop software application testing. - Degree in a technical field: Computer Science or Engineering preferred. - Knowledgeable in current software testing methodologies and able to introduce them as appropriate. - Must have excellent problem solving skills in order to determine the root of a customer�s software issue. - Exhibit a positive and proactive nature with the ability to obtain customer solutions in a timely manner. - Very organized and strong attention to detail. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to meet deadlines. - Able to work effectively individually and in a team environment. - Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Win 7, Server 2008, Win XP), especially in the areas of the installation and uninstallation of programs, registry settings, and the Windows installed programs environment. Mac experience is a plus. The Ideal candidate is familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, printing file formats, particularly Adobe PDF and Postscript.
