Hospice Program Director Job Opening in Portland, Maine - Join our team! We are actively seeking a Hospice Program Director to join our growing New England program as we expand into the Portland, ME area.
Summary:
A full-time Director is needed for establishing and operating a start-up location in Portland, ME. This is a unique opportunity to share your passion for end-of-life care with an established hospice organization committed to promoting and delivering compassionate care to patients and families facing end-of-life challenges.
Position:
The Director must have previous experience managing and growing a hospice program with a proven track record of success and will be responsible for overall management and direction of the program. They will act as an intricate part of our interdisciplinary team with their primary responsibility being to coordinate and manage the team and activities within the clinical program.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that structure and systems promote interdisciplinary care and make sure that care is provided
Ensuring that there is adequate and appropriate staffing and available supportive services
Conducting program planning and preparation of an annual budget
Monitoring business operations to ensure financial stability
Managing conflicts and complaints and encouraging resolution
Assisting Professional and Community Liaisons with negotiating contracts for provision of services and assuring enforcement of the agreements
Overseeing the public relations program and marketing plan to increase community understanding, improve relations with physicians and other care clinicians and increase revenues
Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or one of the hospice clinical disciplines or related field. Masters Degree preferred.
Minimum of two years experience in healthcare management
Minimum of three years hospice experience
Knowledge, experience and ability to effectively administrate a hospice
Able to market, negotiate, resolve conflicts and deal tactfully with the community
Knowledge of corporate business management preferred
Demonstrates good communication and public relations skills
Licensed driver with an insured automobile in the state of ME
