Controller- Reference Laboratory Job Opening in Shreveport, Louisiana - Job Title: Financial & Accounting Controller- Reference Lab
Department: Administration
Reports To: CEO
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accountable for the financial and accounting operation of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports that summarize and forecast business activities and financial positions in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operation.
Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and to enhance the accuracy of the company?s reported financial results.
Oversee and regulate corporate funds and accounts, approve expenditures and provide guidance to ensure the financial solvency of BioStat Laboratories, LLC.
Work with third party vendor to verify accuracy of laboratory billing.
INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit respect, integrity, and loyalty to all Company interests including Administrative Staff, Support Personnel, Laboratory Operations Personnel, BioStat Laboratory Patients, Business Clients, and Company CEO.
Maintain high standards for health, safety, welfare and ethical behavior.
Adhere to all policies of agencies, institutional and regulatory bodies.
Maintain a professional manner.
Support, interpret and comply with the philosophies of the company.
Maintain own required certification and licensure.
As directed, attend various Continuing Education seminars or courses which will enhance individual knowledge of the reference laboratory industry and Company.
Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable billings and payments and maintaining correct inventory balances and sales tax payments. Review of Payroll for accuracy.
Provide CEO with Dailey reports showing all aspects of the company.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting and MBA/CPA certification strongly preferred.
Must have prior experience in a Laboratory Controller role.
Extensive experience in managing corporate finances and supervising a corporate accounting department.
Detailed knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices as they relate to corporate financial management.
Understand all Federal and State regulations and reporting requirements.
Experience in billing & revenue cycle management , reconciliation of insurance claims
Possess demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to deal with a wide range of organizational issues and various personnel matters and able to operate under stringent personal demands, and maintain respect of both employees and customers.
This position requires the utmost confidentiality and highest ethical standards.
