Outside Sales Representative for Lighting & Controls Company Job Opening in Hillsborough, North carolina - We are a company focused on the distribution of LED lighting and control products, and are in search of a sales representative that will drive business locally and throughout North America. We are located in Hillsborough and cater to a broad base of customers, including the theatrical, entertainment, and architectural industries.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate are:
Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
Sells products by establishing contact, including with cold calling, and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities.
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Other duties as necessary.
Requirements:
2 ? 5 years of proven work experience as a sales representative. Experience selling technical products is preferred. Experience in some aspect of the lighting industry is a plus.
Some travel will be required for this position, including attendance at trade shows. Travel will not be extensive however. This is an office based position, and the candidate will be required to have standard office hours when not traveling.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, and experience with Salesforce (or other CRM packages) is preferred.

Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
BS/BA degree or equivalent
