CFO Job Opening in New York, New york - The CFO is responsible for the administrative and financial operations of the Carter Burden Network (CBN). This includes but is not limited to finance, accounting, legal, information technology, telecommunications, human resources, and physical infrastructure. In addition, this individual oversees the grant and contract management function of the organization. CFO specific responsibilities include: Finance Direct the financial management of the organization: Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of financial reports. Prepare monthly financial reports for management and financial reports as requested for the finance committee, executive committee, and board of directors. Review, approve, prepares and present monthly and annual financial reports and materials, to the board of directors. Manage the annual budgeting process, coordinating input from program managers Manage the annual audit process. Manage restricted foundation and corporate grants: reporting, budgets, grant management. Supervise and support the Comptroller who functions as the Contract Manager for all government contracts. Human Resources Oversee the HR function in the organization. Supervise and support payroll function. Responsible for managing benefits. Manage the IT function Evaluate the current platform and make recommendations for IT needs for the organization (both in terms of hardware and software). Evaluate the continuing cost effectiveness of the current IT platform. Contract Management Review cost effectiveness of vendors and make recommendations for increased efficiency and reduction in costs. Manage facility vendors. Create RFPs and select appropriate vendors. Monitor quality of vendor and review vendor contracts. General Administration Assists the Executive Director in other issues and tasks as they arise to ensure the efficient and effective management of the organization and to ensure control over and protection of CBN resources. Reporting Structure Reports to the Executive Director. Supervises Comptroller, Accountant, and Bookkeeper. Provide ongoing technical support and mentoring to direct reports. Work with the treasurer of the Board of Directors. Staff the Finance and Audit Committees. Education and Experience Qualifications: The CFO will have at least five to eight years of professional experience in financial and administrative management in the nonprofit sector. Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) in Accounting. The CFO must have: Excellent inter-personal skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team. Excellent written and verbal skills. Experience in human resource management. Technological savvy, with demonstrated examples of experience of working with IT staff to develop and implement new processes and systems that increase efficiency. The idea candidate will be flexible, be able to multi task, and work well in a high-paced environment. Salary: up to $ 125,000, commensurate with experience.
