Chief Information Officer, Henry Ford Health System Job Opening in Detroit, Michigan - The Sr. Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the senior executive responsible for information technology functions across the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) and its related affiliates. The CIO responsibilities include strategy and planning, budgets; design, alignment, and integration of services; implementation and IT operations support to provide an exceptional patient and customer experience. The Henry Ford Health System Information Technology Division is dedicated to the strategic and tactical support of the System?s technical and communications needs, leading the way in streamlining, standardizing, and simplifying the ways in which technology can support the business and clinical needs of its workforce.
HFHS seeks a strategic, innovative, and transformational CIO to guide its business strategies and decisions with a focus on its four key True North objectives: Safest Care and Best Outcomes, Exceptional Experience, Affordable Efficient Care, and Compassionate Committed People. In close alignment with its three-part academic medicine mission to support clinical excellence, strong research interests, and a comprehensive education environment, the CIO will drive exceptional execution and delivery by linking initiatives to the priorities of the HFHS business.
Henry Ford Health System has partnered with Epic Systems Corporation to implement HELIOS and to clinically transform its inpatient, ambulatory, and revenue cycle operations. Adjusting to the landscape of changes in care delivery redesign, an emphasis on support for ambulatory and telemedicine services, precision medicine, and analytics has taken a prominent position in delivery of integrated functionality. The System has achieved HIMSS Stage 6 maturity and has attained Most Wired Status over 3 consecutive years.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops strategic and tactical plan for Information Systems that supports the vision, strategic objectives, and service line growth of the Henry Ford Health System
A member of the System Strategy and Operations Council, actively participates in the Strategic Planning process for the System.
Chairs the Technology Steering Committee ? leading the governance processes to prioritize initiatives against strategic objectives within a supportable architectural framework, and implement, support and maintain information systems and software. Coordinate and align efforts with affiliated IT services
Develops policies and procedures regarding the privacy and security of Information Services
Consistent with the business strategy, develops and manages and monitors annual operating and capital budgets for IT operations
Leads the continuous review of investment needs, evaluates service delivery with an appreciation for delivering services at cost effective levels
Reviews and approves agreements for the purchase of computer systems and software in accordance with Signing Authority policies
Serves as the focal point to create and maintain the Disaster Recovery environment and preparedness for critical infrastructure systems and components, supports and maintains Tier 3 environment across all IT lines of service
Develops standards, policies, and procedures regarding the acquisition, implementation and operation of computer and telecommunication systems
Maintains policies, procedures and practices that ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements
Communicates information systems plans, policies and trends to the Board of Directors, System Leadership and the Staff
Maintains regular contacts with key stakeholders and vendors to evaluate systems, coordinate the HFHS needs, and negotiate contracts with an emphasis on establishing commitments and limiting HFHS liabilities, and to resolve issues

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business or Healthcare Administration or related areas
Master?s Degree required in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or related field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Significant progressive leadership experience
10 years of relevant management level experience in a health care system or related organization/system
Proven ability to successfully undertake multiple initiatives simultaneously in a complex, matrixed organization
Experience working with executives, physicians and clinicians, governance members and other leaders to drive priorities
Financial and business acumen
Excellent oral and written skills
Experience with data and analytics as a driver for successful planning, implementation, and transformation
Comprehensive understanding of security and privacy demands in a patient care environment
Excellent strategic and operational planning skills, organizational development and leadership skills
Has an industry specific network of professional colleagues and a strong professional reputation that generates respect
