Insurance-Customer Service Rep Job Opening in lansing, Michigan - Insurance-Customer Service Rep JOB TITLE: Personal Lines Customer Service Representative (CSR) BASIC FUNCTION: Provide efficient, professional, courteous service to personal lines customers. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives and records all client information necessary to process applications for new, renewal, cancellation and endorsements of personal lines policies. Compiles coverage and rating information, researches insurers? underwriting criteria, coverage and premium data, and furnishes the client with the best coverage and premium proposals. Maintains in-force files and prepares policy renewal notices, recommending coverage enhancements. Actively cross-sells additional policies on existing accounts, asks for referrals, and helps solicit new business. Types binders and applications for insurance and, when necessary, collects initial down payment. Reviews policy expiration listing and follows up upon non-renewed policies. Contacts clients on cancellation notices and makes maximum effort to ensure policies remain in force with the agency. Types general correspondence & maintains correspondence files. Receives and records claim statements. Obtains accident reports, police report numbers and types the liability accident notice or property notice. Reviews insurance policies with client to be sure losses are covered in policy and/or that client understands exclusions that may affect claim. Obtains repair or replacement cost statements and provides all claims information to appropriate insurance company. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Applied Systems? TAM and Capitol Rater a plus. Must possess, or be willing to obtain, a Michigan Insurance Producer license. At least one (1) year of experience in insurance service (Underwriting and rating preferred).
