Senior Accountant Job Opening in Salem, Massachusetts - Atlantic Lab Equipment has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant . This position will report directly to the CFO. The individual in this position will be responsible for the following tasks and duties:
Job Description:
Accounting Operations
Assist with the daily accounting activities including inventory movement, invoicing, accounts receivable, cash management, accounts payable, and reporting.
Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll.
Participate in the month end closing process including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and trial balance.
Monthly reconciliation of credit cards, bank accounts and Paypal accounts.
Maintain and update the Fixed Asset listing.
Track and process quarterly commissions.
Track and process quarterly consignment sales.
Reporting and Forecasting
Provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts.
Assist with building, maintaining and updating financial models.
Specialty management reporting and analysis, as required.
Compliance of the Sales Tax filing requirements with outside third party.
Inventory
Inventory management in QuickBooks Enterprise.
Monthly closing process for all inventory categories, including analysis/review and reconciliation.
Analyze inventory for potential slow moving and/or obsolescence issues.
Coordinate cycle counting process with warehouse management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 3 years? work experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize with minimal supervision, work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise, including experience with purchase orders and inventory.
Familiarity with biotech industry and equipment a plus.
