Public Assistance Disaster Recovery Specialist Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - iParametrics is seeking Disaster Recovery Specialists to support ?Public Assistance? response efforts for all kinds of natural and man-made disasters across the US including hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and fires.
We are looking for FEMA experienced Public Assistance professionals. Applicants must be willing to commit to a deployment to any location in the US for the duration of their assignment. Assignments typically run 3 ? 6 months for smaller disasters and can go a year or longer for larger disasters. Home turn-around is generally allowed with supervisor approval. Relocation not required; travel expenses are reimbursed per standard government per diems.
We have requirements for the following types of experienced professionals:
Cost Estimator
Architect
Mechanical Engineer
Civil Engineer
Structural Engineer
Electrical Engineer
Construction Manager
Financial Analyst or Accountant, including CPAs
Hazard Mitigation Specialist
Responsibilities and Duties:
May perform damage assessments of public facilities and infrastructure to determine eligibility for FEMA funding and extent of applicable damages in accordance with FEMA policies and procedures and make recommendation on reparability of damaged structures.
Develop Project Worksheets (PWs), damage descriptions and dimensions (DDDs) and Scopes of Work. This includes gathering any records, blueprint and other data that may affect funding eligibility.
Conduct detailed estimates utilizing RS Means, CostWorks and FEMA?s Cost Estimating Format (CEF)
Develop Hazard Mitigation Grant Proposals
Provide guidance and ensure special considerations and compliance issues have been address in a specific area of expertise.
Regular interface with FEMA, State and Local Governments and contractors.
Qualifications:
Required:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in your field of expertise within the commercial and/or public industries including, but not limited to, government entities/facilities, medical facilities, schools, transportation (roads and bridges), coastal entities, water/waste treatment and utilities/power.
Bachelor?s degree from an accredited university in engineering, architecture, construction, environmental studies, accounting or a related field. (Construction Managers do not need a degree)
Experience with FEMA Public Assistance. Must be knowledgeable of PWs, CEFs, and/or Hazard Mitigation.
US Citizenship is a requirement. Applicants must be willing to be fingerprinted and undergo and pass a rigorous background check to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred:
Professional Registration or Certification including Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, etc.
Situational Awareness:
During site assessments, if required, conditions may be austere including prolonged exposure to excessive heat and cold, prolonged sun exposure and no electricity, heat or air conditioning. These assessments may require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time; working in small spaces, tunnels and ditches; climbing ladders or stairs; walking/working on uneven surfaces; and lifting up to 25 pounds.
