District Supervisor (Grocery/Retail/Merchandisers) Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - Position Summary
The ASLLC District Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing several team members and achieving exceptional retail and event program execution. They are expected to make frequent independent decisions of importance regarding associate and operations management in their assigned district. They must be astute decision-makers, solution-oriented problem solvers, effective communicators, organized, and efficient.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Associate Management
Supervise at least 4 full-time team members
Plan, schedule and direct their work
Monitor and coach performance; train associates
Prepare and deliver performance appraisals
Make discipline and termination recommendations
Handle associate complaints and grievances
Oversee and enforce compliance with ASM policies and procedures
Forecast headcount needs; managing staffing needs as appropriate
Independently recruit, interview, and hire RSMs
Identify and recommend candidates for promotion
District Management
Oversight of retail excellence goal execution to include building relationships with retailers, clients, and trade; communication of client initiatives and priorities; evaluating client/customer needs (leveraging client data portal as determined to be appropriate); developing and overseeing action items to further achievement of client/customer goals; ensuring completion of all retail projects; assisting in promotion of client products/services; development of sales forecasts; ensuring timely sell through and achievement of assigned sales goals
Event and shelf stocking management to include scheduling and staffing; managing store events and product demonstrations; analyzing and reporting on event execution; developing and recommending opportunities for event improvement
Budget/Expense management to include development and recommendation of district budget and maintaining expenses within established budget; to include contracting
Merchandising, Reporting, and Administrative Duties
Merchandising responsibilities to include in-store space negotiation; building and maintaining displays; identifying opportunities to create individual store display themes and events; rotating product to help maximize sales; delivering and placing client-generated
POS; purchasing creative POS; selling in display racks and truckload sales; maintaining shelf standards; achieving speed to shelf objectives
Product compliance responsibilities to include managing date codes; adherence to adult beverage laws; communication of potential ?product liability? (i.e., 1x buys and deleted items still in stock and guaranteed) to business management team
Auditing responsibilities to include conducting store audits, client work-with appointments, price surveys
Reporting responsibilities to include accurate and timely review, completion, and/or approval of district/ team member paperwork, reports, recaps, itineraries, timesheets, expense reports
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Indirect Reports
- This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements
- Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job
- Travel up to 40%
