Accounting Assistant Job Opening in Clawson, Michigan - Position Summary This position is designed to provide full support to Accounting. To effectively perform this role the individual will need to be able to perform the responsibilities identified in the job description below with little to no supervision. This position will provide the path to other accounting positions within the organization.
General duties include: processing, correcting, and reconciling a wide variety of accounting documents (such as vendor invoices, truck logs, material tickets); compiling, reviewing and coding financial information for accuracy, and maintaining records. Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology; creating and maintaining spreadsheets; and/or process information through automated accounting system.
Reporting Accounting Manager
Work Hours Per manual as needed to meet accounting requirements
Employment Status Hourly ? Part time or Full-time position available ? Overtime eligible
Key Responsibilities:
(actual job duties will consist of items from various areas ? job costing, accounts payable and general accounting)
Electronic Timecard (Time Star) data entry, review and upload to MAS
Process and file all work orders, expenses, copies, invoices according to Job File procedure
Process Quotes/Customer PO File in appropriate job folders
Set up and organizes job files according to job-costing guidelines
Pull & prep completed Job Files, organize and run all costing reports
Produce and review Non-Labor Reports (compile cost back-up)
Direct Cost Entry on Jobs- truck rental/mileage, cells, material tickets, other costs
File all Final Billed Job Envelopes in Closed File Drawer
Maintain Closed File Drawers
Assist Accounts Receivable staff in posting invoices
Assist Accounts Payable staff in posting invoice
Maintain Vendor and Customer Electronic Database
Assist in all accounting areas as needed
Additional Responsibilities
Enter time in Timestar daily
Follow all policies, processes and procedures as outlined in the CSG company manual and other sources (i.e. department meeting minutes, other written policies and verbal direction)

Position Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Associates degree in accounting, or currently enrolled in accounting curriculum or
1-2 years related experience
