Software Engineer (Java) at a Healthtech Startup Job Opening in San Francisco, California - We're a small, rapidly growing SaaS startup in healthtech, founded by neuroscientists and brain researchers. We're building a platform for users to take brain assessments and brain training exercises that truly change brain habits. We're small and scrappy, and we have 40+ enterprise customers and growing rapidly (many of which are Fortune 500).
As one of our first in-house software engineers, you'll have a direct and major impact on the direction of the product. This role will have a lot of autonomy, as you help guide us in building scalable, performant applications.
One of our biggest projects coming up is a large, greenfield project - of which you will help drive.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the internal team on strategy and roadmap
Build and maintain performant, reusable Java/Scala/Node code on the backend
Identify areas of the application to modularize, advise what technology to use and how to implement
Continue to build our APIs - both internal and public

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
4+ years experience
Developed and shipped Scala/Java code in production
Previous experience building public APIs a plus
Passion for the wellness and brain health space a plus
