Outside Sales Representative Job Opening in Gastonia, North carolina - The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing prospects and closing sales for new customers and for retraining and expanding sales volume to existing accounts. This person also assists the Director of Sales with strategy development and planning.
ESSENTIAL :
Evaluates sales by territory and product. Then provides strategies and programs to stimulate sales.
Uses sales support resources to attain sales goals.
Develops specific sales strategies for assigned products and markets
Develops and implements Sales Action Plans to meet objectives and strategies
Revises and updates sales strategies to meet changes in territorial environment and company objectives
Performs such developmental contacts with other markets and outlets in assigned territory as well as promote the interests of the company
Participates in industry trade shows as applicable
In conjunction with Director of Sales, monitors and reviews competitive developments, evaluates their impact on the market, takes corrective action to overcome a noncompetitive position and develops ways to exploit corporate market advantages
Analyzes the market by looking at market trends, checks product acceptance, and investigates competitor of distribution
Establishes and maintains harmonious relations with past, present and potential customers by promoting sales opportunities and enhancing the companies prestige in the insulation industry
Maintains regular contacts with customers and potential customers in assigned territory to promote the sale of products and/or services
Instructs customers in the use of products
Handles instances of customer dissatisfaction and specific complaints by gathering information concerning the problem, making prompt and effective decision based on the facts, and recommending adjustments to the customer.
Cooperates in obtaining customer credit information
Recommends, develops, and conducts customer meetings to inform them of product data and benefits
Follows up on quotes; keeps records on feedback for future records; negotiates terms and conditions of sales
Keeps accurate records of customer transactions; (meetings, items of discussion including any issues that affect business relations) through our sales tracking software
Serves as a liaison between the customer and all touch points within the company
Participates in pricing and price revisions
Sells products at the highest possible published prices utilizing the perceived value concept
Requests price deviations being sure they meeting with the competitive situation and company profit margin goals
Ensures all pricing policies must comply with legal and corporate requirements
Provides continual updating of changes in competitive pricing strategies and tactics within the assigned territory
Provides input to the Director of Sales to aid in the development of sales and market share forecasts
Provides input to the Director of Sales to aid in conducting environmental analysis of products and/or markets within the total sales responsibility, with particular emphasis on markets, competition, strengths, weaknesses of existing products and sources of growth
Works with customers to understand their needs in relation to quality
Establishes target accounts and pursues throughout the year
Logs all sales activity into CRM software
Records notes from all customers/prospects contact into CRM software no later than two days following the contact
Maintains program of self-improvement to prepare for potential advancement
Keeps posted of any significant factors affecting responsibility
Performs all work in a safe manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
Five years of sales experience
EDUCATION &/or CERTIFICATIONS:
High school diploma/GED
PREFERRED :
Advanced MS Office skills including Word and Excel are required. Proficient in PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge of CRM such as Salesforce
Ability to multitask
