Liscensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Opening in Fremont, Nebraska - License Practical Nurse (LPN)
High school graduate or equivalent.
Associate Degree LPN and Nebraska state license is REQUIRED
BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment. (Certification must come from the American Heart Association.)
Pay is commensurate with experience***
Typical Job Responsibilities :
Maintains patient flow in accordance with time of appointment or walk-in status in such a manner to avoid delays for the physician and undue waiting for patients.
Assists the provider with all examinations and procedures with predictable outcomes routinely provided in the clinic.
Demonstrates competency in tasks and skills required for this position.
Keeps the exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked with supplies needed for examinations.
Maintains efficient, organized, and clean work areas.
Disposes of needles and other sharps in biohazard sharp containers according to procedures provided by the clinic.
Understands and follows orders and communicates results per provider.
Communicates with patients, families, and other professionals in a courteous manner.
Understands and demonstrates compliance with HIPAA regulations
Retrieves messages and responds to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices by use of telephone and computer as delegated by a licensed health care provider.
Returns authorized messages from provider as delegated and documents information provided in the patient record.
Provides phone triage, as needed
Handles incoming faxes, e-prescriptions, communicates all results
Adapts communication style to each patient?s ability to understand; Collects basic subjective and objective data as directed by the licensed health care professional and records in the patient medical record. Reports data to the licensed health care provider.
Floats to different area in the clinic to provide support when other staff members are out of the office, as needed.
Recognizes and responds to verbal and non-verbal communication. Experience:
Performs any other duties that may be assigned by physicians or immediate supervisor
2 year family practice clinic experience preferred
Able to communicate professionally and effectively with physicians, patients, and staff.
