Sales Account Manager Job Opening in New Orleans, Louisiana - The successful Account Manager should provide well developed value propositions to his or her customers. They should be able to sell consultatively and provide value to existing customers with exemplary follow up. Focus will include driving new business as well as increasing penetration in existing accounts while ensuring revenue is appropriate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Initiates and takes ownership of principles of territory management including: strategic territory planning, account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation processes, and deal economics ?financial ownership of the business driven and maintained.
2. Makes decisions at the account and territory level to positively impact margin.
3. Develops new business by penetrating accounts and converting competitive products.
4. Implements a business plan to meet overall strategic corporate sales objectives and quotas for the entire product offering.
5. Analyzes margin gain or loss and explains what is influencing that fluctuation.
6. Maintains high retention rate of current business through outstanding service.
7. Maintains all contacts for each given account with latest call records for product lines.
8. Sells all assigned products with a minimum goal of 90% penetration.
9. Continues to influence customers to see and understand the value that our products bring to them.
10. Educates the customer about our full product line.
11. Creates value for the customer by using organizational, industry and hospital knowledge to affect a projects outcome.
12. Demonstrates fiscal restraint and exhibits behavior associated with a desire to increase earnings and profitability in the assigned territory.
13. Participates in divisional, area and regional meetings.
14. Understands the decision making process in key clinical areas within the hospital.
15. Maintains strong relationships and works closely with your appropriate teams to grow divisional and corporate sales.
16. Maintains strong relationships with counterparts in other business units or operating regions to assist with leads and ability to leveraging business together.
17. Maintains strong relationships with Marketing to provide feedback on products, services and programs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university; MBA preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in medical industry or advanced knowledge of industry.
Must have exceptional organizational skills.
