Security/Fire Alarm Technician Job Opening in Sioux Falls, South dakota - Description:
Midwest Alarm has been installing fire and security alarms since 1967. Midwest Alarm owns and operates the only U.L. listed central monitoring station in the region and is a great place to work with many long term employees and stable employment opportunities with the potential for advancement. We are actively seeking technicians to join our growing company in both our Fire Alarm and Security Systems divisions. Technicians would get to work with cutting edge technology in access control and biometric systems, fire alarm systems, IP CCTV surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems.

Technician pay ranges from $15.00 to $28.00 depending on experience with significant over time availability to technicians. 2 Weeks of vacation and 1 week of sick paid time off for new employees as well as paid holidays. 100% employer paid and provided uniforms, tools, and vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Install all necessary cabling which includes extensive fishing in walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Conduit work as needed for jobs. Create and maintain drawings and accurate documentation on installation paperwork for all systems. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Ability to speak effectively when demonstrating and training customers. Must work well with coworkers and subcontractors of other trades. Must have ability to solve problems as they arise. Aptitude to learn new technology as it changes. Ability to life and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally life and move up to 100 lbs. Extensive step ladder work; occasional extension ladder and scissor lift work. Work in commercial and residential settings; occasional exposure to weather conditions. Jobs occasionally require some travel, overtime and overnights.
Requirements:
Clean criminal record. Have valid driver's license with good driving record. Follow all company safety rules. Maintain professional appearance with good hygiene and appropriate dress. Be on time and alert, careful, conscientious while working, be thoughtful & considerate of others, be courteous & helpful when dealing with customers & other employees. Non-smoker preferred.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two years or more of related experience; or combination of education and hands on experience. Knowledge of electronics, electrical construction, power and hand tools and multimeter. Knowledge of computer hardware and software; network basics such as switches and routers.
