Bethany Home Brandon is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Nursing to add to our team.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Brandon Campus Director of Nursing to coordinate neighborhood specific clinical and support services to make certain the mission, vision, and values of Bethany Home are upheld and assuring excellence in resident care. The ADON participates in the planning, organizing, directing, and facilitating of clinical and support service operations of the neighborhoods and facility to ensure regulatory compliance; nurture a person-centered and resident-directed culture; strengthen the ability of the Bethany Home Brandon Nursing Home to grow as a distinct area; and promote individual and team learning in the facility.
This is a supervisory position and includes supervision of the neighborhood staff including the Neighborhood Leaders, Neighborhood Nurses and the Care Specialists. The ADON may serve partnering neighborhoods, providing knowledge and skills to staff in the neighborhoods in specific areas of clinical accountability, assuring that the neighborhoods have the needed resources {community links, materials, supplies, skills and knowledge} to be successful in the Neighborhood Leader?s professional area.
ABOUT BETHANY BRANDON:
The 160-acre Bethany Brandon campus comprises Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Rehab care offerings. In addition, a Wellness Center with Therapy Gym is onsite.
SUPERVISION:
The ADON will report directly to the Director of Nursing.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist the DON in the hiring and supervision of neighborhood employees while assuring adequate staffing.
2. Assure orientation, training, and continuing education of all Neighborhood employees. Promotes and demonstrates individual and team growth, quality outcomes, compliance with regulation and adherence to Bethany Home policies and procedures.
3. Assist the DON in conducting regular performance appraisals with neighborhood employees.
4. Establish and maintain open and effective communication with residents, families, employees, physicians, referral sources, supervisor and other members of the management team.
5. Assess residents' functional status as well as their social, psychological, and spiritual needs on an ongoing basis, especially prior to move-in and after hospital stays. Assure that care plans are completed and that services and support are arranged to meet resident needs. If necessary, refer residents to community-based services and medical services.
6. Implement approaches and services to maintain or enhance resident independence.
