TITLE: Teen Director
REPORTS TO: Education Director, Executive Director
HOURS: 40 hrs per week (12:00 - 9:00pm typical hours)
COMPENSATION: $12-$15/hr - depends upon experience, with potential for wage increase. Benefits package includes short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance, 401k match, healthcare support, travel, holidays and paid leave.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans and implements teen programs and activities; enters data for various grants and organizational priorities: recruits youth into program.
JOB SUMMARY:
Engage and inspire young people to learn and grow to be responsible adults. Oversee the core programs of the Club for ages 11-18 by ensuring that staff are planning, developing and implementing programs and activities that support the organization?s standards. Must monitor and evaluate situations quickly using good judgment to assess situations and make decisions. Create and maintain a fun and safe environment for teens and adults within the program space. Communicate with parents as necessary regarding behavior and Club events.

Prepare Teens for Success
Establish positive and meaningful relationships with the Club?s teen population.
Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in fun and engaging programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Educate, promote, develop self-esteem, and provide positive alternatives.
Oversee at least two teen programs
Handle a the complex dynamics of managing a large group of teens
Work evenings and some weekends
Ensure safety and consistency in transportation home for Teen Club members
Ensure safety and quality in snack preparation
Plan, organize and implement daily, weekly and monthly FUN and IMPACTFUL age appropriate activities
Promote and stimulate teen participation in all activities
Supervise teen nights
Supervise monthly teen special events (late nights, trips, lock-ins, etc)
Recruitment & Marketing
Recruit aggressively to grow daily attendance .
Ensure visibility of the teen program throughout the community
Visit the middle and high schools weekly to promote teen events
Post schedules of regular activities and flyers for special events, including regular posts on social media.
Collaborate with local sports teams, clubs, and youth organizations.
Update social media accounts and communicate with Club teens.
Attend and participate in school functions when appropriate.
Promote and stimulate membership within the Club by generating publicity for programs within the Club and the Community.
Health & Safety
Ensure a healthy, safe, clean, organized, environment, supervising members in program area.
Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
Ensure club youth are utilizing equipment and supplies in a safe and respectful manner
Internal/External Communication
Establish ongoing communication with BGC team.
Recommend modifications that respond to member needs and interests and manage orders in conjunction with Executive Director when supplies are needed.
Attend weekly and monthly meetings.
Communicate regularly with parents, principals and teachers regarding the needs of teens
Establish relationships with directors of local youth-serving programs to stimulate growth of program and collaborate on special events
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. T.R.A.I.L., S.T.E.M., O.J.P, sports leagues, teen nights, field trips, etc)
May consult with parents concerning member and Club issues.
Work in small group environment.
Must be independently motivated and capable of working in a professional manner with low supervision.
Ability to work most evenings and some weekends.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret ; instruct, and advise/counsel.
External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member's parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE RECOMMENDED:
High school diploma
College degree preferred
Ability to work well with others
Identify student needs
Knowledge of youth development
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Ability to work hand and hand with youths? parent
Ability to plan and implement quality education programs for youth
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
CPR and First Aid Certifications within 90 days of hire
CORE training within 30 days of hire
Sexual Abuse Prevention Training within 6 months of hire
Valid Drivers License
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $11.00 to $15.00 /hour
