Staff Accountant Job Opening in Long Branch, New jersey - About the Company :

Position Requirements :
We are looking for a Staff Accountant with 2 - 4 years of experience in a multi-corporate environment.
Essential Job Duties :
Prepare balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules
Preparation of the General Ledger entries and account reconciliations for the month-end closing relating intercompany accounts.
Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on trends and variances
Review, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies
Analyze and maintain job cost schedules and report to Executive Management
Assist Controller in day to day accounting and financial reporting
Prepare ad hoc reports as required
Maintain intercompany expense allocations
Assist Tax Manager with workpaper management and documentation
:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships
Team player who can also work independently and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Competence in Excel with the ability to visually interpret the logic of a complex sequence of excel formulas and update or change as needed
Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially during period close and reporting cycles
Knowledge of an Accounting System (Timberline/Sage Construction Software experience a plus)
