Application Developer Job Opening in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland - POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based application systems. Troubleshoots system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve the application. Has knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e., HTML, Java, etc.) Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Developer will report to the team lead/manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS;
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelors of Science
Computer Science preferred
5-8 years? experience in lieu of formal degree with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in application development using standard SDLC methodologies.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Secret Clearance or interim secret clearance
Valid state driver?s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
4+ years of C# Web Development
4+ years of SQL Server 2012+ database development, to include writing stored procedures, complex queries and table structuring
4+ years of experience with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience writing and executing functional specifications
Expert knowledge of Object-oriented (OO) Concepts, specifically C#/VB.
Working understanding of Web-Services technology, Model View Controller (MVC) and Entity Framework (EF) principals required.
Experience in web forms, CSS3/HTML5
Experience with Continuous Integration and build automation via TFS
Expert knowledge of TFS, or similar source repository engine
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users
Troubleshooting and solving typical software development issues. Responsible for proper unit testing and creating deployment solutions

Not required, but helpful: Microsoft MCSD
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of SharePoint 2013+ design, including SharePoint Developer
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review user requirements specifications, verifying that all requirements can be implemented in the required timeframe
Assist with the creation of implementation design and technical design documentation
Manage the deployment of application code into all environments, completing all required documentation
Assist the application support team with troubleshooting and resolution of issues reported on production systems
Designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value
Involved in large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making
Develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
Will be expected to handle smaller projects completely on their own
Working with technical writers to update documentation / tip sheets
