Printing Specialist Job Opening in Tempe, Arizona - Position Summary:
The Printing Specialist oversees the organization, operation, and production of materials of the District print shop. The Printing Specialist collaborates with customers using graphic design techniques to convert materials into printable artwork. Participates in, and provides technical assistance for, other production functions. The Printing Specialist is responsible for maintenance of the webpage and web based tools, quoting orders and procuring outside services as needed.
Essential Functions :
Duplicates, copies, or prints all District print requests.
Retrieves online orders, determining workflow of jobs for productivity.
Assists with production which may include collaborating with customers to design and create artwork.
Prepares, cleans, and maintains equipment, schedules service and repairs as needed.
Develops pricing structures for webpage, budget codes, and edit approvals.
Evaluates and estimates costs for ?charge backs? to sites and submits to accounting department for proper coding.
Troubleshoots errors and problems; provides ongoing technical support for the webpage such as training for internal and external users.
Obtains quotes from outside vendors and provides quotes to customers.
Creates invoices, requisitions, accounting reports and production reports.
Maintains inventory of supplies, materials and equipment and orders supplies in a timely manner for job completion.
Working knowledge of various print shop equipment including but not limited to mass production copiers; 3-hole drill punch; off-line coil, wire and saddle stitch binding; wide format printer; trimmers; collator and booklet maker; folder inserter; labeler; automatic cutters; shrink wrapper; and pressure sealer.
Operate, calibrate and maintain mail inserter pro mailer equipment.
Training and Experience:
Associate?s degree in business, information technology graphic design or related field and
One year experience managing business functions required, or
Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
Knowledge of:
Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes, rules, regulations, codes and statutes
District policies, procedures, organization structures and school requirements
Web-based business support operations
Safety procedures
