Equal Opportunity/ Employment Diversity Associate Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Equal Opportunity/ Employment Diversity Associate About the Position: The Equal Opportunity /Employment Diversity Associate is a full-time, twelve month exempt position, with competitive salary and full benefits. This position performs a variety of professional duties and provides specialized support to the University's Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) and tis affirmative action, equal opportunity, diversity program functions. About the Department: The EOO serves faculty, staff, and students in ensuring that the campus climate is free from discrimination and sexual harassment. Federal and State laws, as well as University policies, protect faculty, staff and students against discrimination based on the following legally protected categories: Race, Color, Creed, Religion, National Origin, Sex, Age, Disability, Marital Status, Sexual Orientation and Gender Expression or Identity, Veteran status and Genetics. Position Responsibilities: ? Apply specialized knowledge to resolve problems and interpret federal and state equal opportunity laws and affirmative action to campus community ? Perform duties related to narrative and statistical reports ? Conduct equal opportunity and affirmative action training for search committees, ensuring compliance with equal opportunity laws and affirmative action regulations; perform a variety of professional duties such as monitoring search processes; researching and developing materials/best practices for search committees in assisting them in seeking diverse applicant pools; advising search committees during hiring process; making recommendations to the Vice Provost in reviewing hiring process ? Conduct training in the prevention of sexual harassment and other equal training; compile reports on training evaluations; and make recommendations for curriculum enhancement ? Develop and manage outreach programs for women, minorities, people with disabilities and veterans; coordinate, develop and implement strategic programs for recruitment and retention of a more diverse workforce ? Work with community contacts to enhance workforce diversity ? Serve as equal opportunity liaison to students on equal related issues ? Develop/manage programmatic efforts designed to inform and assist the student community on equal issues ? Manage plan and publicity for Equal Opportunity Office, including outreach information dissemination and quarterly newsletter ? Perform other specialized duties as required in support of the EO Office function (including initial complaint intake and requests for assistance) Required Qualifications: ? BA degree and minimum two years of experience in equal opportunity, affirmative action or human resources or related field and/or comparable education and/or experience ? Excellent writing skills ? Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated program development and implementation skills ? Demonstrated training skills ? Excellent organizational and computer skills including MS Office Suite ? Ability or experience working collegially and with a diverse population Preferred Qualifications: ? Research skills ?
