Our center is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young children (NAEYC). TITLE: Preschool Teacher, Full-time (year round) PURPOSE: Coordinates with co-teachers to provide learning opportunities and assist with planning and implementing , anti-bias curricula for children 2-5 years. All teachers function at a Lead Teacher level and plan curriculum collaboratively, as part of a team. REPORTS TO: Executive Director and Mentor Teacher Coordinator All staff are required to be in excellent physical health and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? -Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children -Building healthy, respectful and trusting relationships with young children and adults -Coordinating classroom tasks and environment with co-teachers -Using positive guidance methods that strengthen each child's problem-solving and conflict resolution skills -Awareness of best practices for early learners -Preserving State licensing requirements and NAEYC standards PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Provides appropriate emotional and social support for each child?s development ? Communicates effectively with children and adults to build trusting and muturally respectful relationships (a must!) ? Uses positive guidance and discipline methods that strengthen each child?s problem-solving and conflict resolution skills ? Awareness of best practices for classroom and tasks and routines Possesses personal warmth and approachability Successful in working in team-teaching environments Goes the "extra mile" TASKS/DUTIES: The following list of duties is intended to be representative of the work performed and is not all-inclusive. ? Plans and implements activities and plays key role in emergent curriculum ? Works with co-teachers to provide a culturally-relevant, developmentally appropriate, and anti-bias learning environment. Cleans,organizes and maintains and classroom areas ? REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ? Working knowledge of child development ages 2 -5 years Team oriented ? Excellent interpersonal communication skills (a must!) ? Proven initiative and accountability DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ? Twenty credits/clock hours in early childhood education or related field ? One or more years work experience in early childhood education programs (group care preferred) ? Curriculum planning for children 2 -5 years Bi-lingual, Spanish-English or bi-cultural in Spanish a plus People of color, LGBT and others who bring diversity to our organization are encouraged to apply SALARY: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour, DOE Excellent benefits with a team-oriented, collaborative community!
