Research Assistant in Data Analytics Job Opening in Brookline, Massachusetts - The Lown Institute is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Assistant in Data Analytics. Successful candidates will join a project on a novel risk-adjustment technique for comparative health care outcomes using CMS claims data. The person will be directly supervised by and work closely with the Senior Data Analyst, and also report to the Principal Investigator. The study involves extension of a published method of risk adjustment into methods that will be important for public policy. He/She may also be asked to gather material for reports, write or edit working papers, and analyze data. Other duties may be requested. This is an opportunity for authorship of one or more peer reviewed papers for highly motivated and productive candidates.
This position is part-time, with an expected duration of 6 ? 9 months and a start date of October 1, 2017.
Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree required. Ideal candidate will be a graduate student or post-doc in public health or social science program with strong skills in statistical programming and analysis using large datasets, with strong associated communication, and organizational skills. Interest in healthcare systems performance evaluation strongly preferred. Proficiency in SAS and R required . Working knowledge of SPSS and Python preferred
