Web Developer Job Opening in Brookfield, Wisconsin - POSITION SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, applies high levels of interpersonal communication, technical and software development skill to develop, operate, administer and maintain SynerComm internal and customer-facing IT applications. Responsible for understanding and enforcing SynerComm IT-related policy, process and procedure. Ensures effective and timely support for SynerComm?s IT application users.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Monitor, operate, administer and maintain SynerComm?s customer-facing applications including, but not limited to:
SynerComm?s Internet web site, ()
SynerComm?s customer asset portal, ()
SynerComm?s web-based Rapid Hybrid Pen Test application * Develop new customer-facing applications and enhance existing applications across various platforms including web, client-server, and mobile
Monitor, operate, administer and maintain SynerComm?s internal, 3rd party, and cloud-based applications including but not limited to:
Sales Applications
Financial Applications
Operations Applications (e.g. Time, Expense and PTO tracking)
Support Systems Administration in the operation, administration and maintenance of middleware systems including but not limited to:
Sharepoint Services
Web Services
Database Services
Collaborate with Systems Administration in support of user issues
Support custom scripts and applications for customer solutions
Localization configuration scripts
Software Defined Networking and Orchestration solutions
Application integration in cloud environments
Facilitate and document information security compliance with SynerComm?s applications, and support reviews/updates to SynerComm?s IT security policy
Recommend, gain approval, manage and execute projects for additions, updates, and improvements to managed systems and infrastructure
Report regularly to Management on the overall health and performance of SynerComm IT applications, systems and infrastructure
Directly support AssureIT or DeliverIT customer projects as directed and assigned by manager
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education :
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or 2 years web development experience
Basic Requirements:
Proficient in PHP 5, Python, and object-oriented design
Familiar with databases and SQL syntax, such as MySQL or Postgres
Knowledge of HTML and CSS
Familiar with JavaScript and AJAX
Basic knowledge of GNU/Linux and a web server (Apache or Nginx)
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in security risks and solutions in web application development
Experience in developing web services (REST, RPC, JSON, XML, SOAP, etc)
Experience with jQuery
Experience with Unit Testing or Continuous Integration
Familiar with Subversion, Git, and/or Mercurial
Knowledge of optimization such as memcached and scaling MySQL/PHP
