Systems/Software Engineer Job Opening in Miami, Florida - Job description
Linux Systems Engineer with strong database skills is responsible for the engineering, monitoring and maintenance of OPS Explorer's systems, hardware and software infrastructure. Duties And Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain system hardware and software
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Provide 3rd level support occasionally
Any other functions deemed necessary
Education And Experience
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting as well as coding and scripting in Linux (CentOS) environment
Experience with MySQL
Experience with configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining firewalls (Watchguard preferred)
Specific Knowledge/Skills Required
An excellent understanding of Linux
Solid understanding of networking, network design, performance and security
Strong database skills (especially MySQL)
Knowledge of VOIP preferred
Strong coordination, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
