Controller II Job Opening in Winston-Salem, North carolina - Responsibilities:
Create and prepare the monthly close calendar and drive the process to achieve critical deadlines
Prepare financial monthly, quarterly and yearly close process including preparation of journal entries on a timely basis
Prepare and monitor monthly reporting, analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and income statement accounts on a timely basis
Review and approve individual items to ensure they are properly recorded and stated in the financial statements, and ensure that significant balance sheet and income statement variances are identified and explained accordingly in accurate GAAP
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
Experience and knowledge with Fixed Asset management, including maintenance of roll forward reports
Cash Management experience
In conjunction with the CFO, develop annual budget for the business units; provide long-term financial projections for annual strategic plan
Develop integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations; make operational recommendations when trends are discovered and provide strategic input and process implementation to the business units
Provide oversight to ensure billing, cash receipts and purchases are properly classified and recorded and that there are proper segregations of duties within the processes
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government tax filing and reporting requirements
Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required
Qualifications:
CPA Required
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibilities preferably with a large, public company or public accounting experience
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Advanced-level QuickBooks experience
Advanced-level experience using Excel. Ability to work with complex tables and look-ups. Financial modeling a plus
Previous forecast and budgeting experience
Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to quickly develop working relationships across teams and to communicate both up and down the Corporate hierarchy
Analytical and problem solving skills with excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to problem solve and work independently with minimal direction
Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
Intellectually curious with a willingness and desire to be an agent of change
Preferred:
Public accounting experience is a plus
Healthcare experience with multi-site management
