Tax Senior Staff Job Opening in Asheville, North carolina - Carter, PC is a growing CPA firm with offices in Asheville and Charlotte. Our tax practice includes a wide range of services and industries, including small businesses, high net worth individuals, estates and trusts, and not-for-profit organizations. We also provide audit and comprehensive accounting and advisory services.
We are looking for a Senior Tax Staff Accountant to join us in our downtown Asheville office.
The ideal candidate will have three to five years? experience preparing personal and corporate tax returns under the supervision of a CPA.
An undergraduate degree in accounting or a related field is required. A Masters of Accountancy or Taxation is preferred, but not required. CPA certification, or demonstrated progress towards obtaining certification is also required.
This position begins with review of individual, corporate, and pass-through returns prepared by junior staff, with expection to advance to estates, trusts, and nonprofit returns. Some preparation of more complex returns is expected. Senior staff are also expected to manage the workflow and needs of a client list that is tailored to that person?s strengths and direction of growth.
A successful candidate will be a focused, team player who is ready to increase their knowledge and contribute to the success of the firm immediately. We look for positive people who are self-reliant and self-motivated but know how to work collaboratively.
We use Thomson Reuters tax products (Checkpoint, UltraTax, Fixed Assets CS, and Practice CS) and Microsoft Office suite. Everything is cloud-based for easy access anywhere. Experience with these products is a plus, but not a requirement?if you are experienced with any other professional tax software, we?re confident you?ll be fine. Experience with QuickBooks is not required.
