ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIY:
The Director of Operations will report to the SVP of Sales & Operations and will be responsible for providing oversight to Department Managers in the areas of Sourcing / Purchasing, Distribution and Graphics (Pre-Production Art). The position will have as 3-5 direct reports with as many as 25-35 downline employees. The Director of Operations must possess a passion for operational excellence, efficiency, & profitability. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated ability to lead multiple individuals from various departments in a deadline driven, multi-layered, and integrated organization with a customer first mentality.
SOURCING / PURCHASING LEADERSHIP:
Identify, create, & implement supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed while reducing overall costs to the business
Identify, create & train on best in class processes to increase performance, negotiation skills, product safety, delivery, and quality through the procurement process
Develop and incorporate best practices in regards to space management utilization to positively impact inventory turn, days on hand, fill rate, and overall pricing strategy
Partner with marketing and sales to develop strategies and tactics to create business standards (guidelines, timelines, formats, issue tracking/resolution, etc.) for custom product requests, samples, proposals, major projects, etc.
Establish & train on best in class procedures for drop shipping, receiving, and spot checking product from vendors to ensure quality, safety, delivery, & presentation of product meets/exceeds company standards
Partners with New Product Team to concept, develop, and procure new products with speed to market, quality, and competitive pricing measures in place
Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors that support the operational execution & profitability of our business
Develop and execute best in class standards to foster a healthy competitive vendor base through RFP?s, attending tradeshows, making vendor site tours, etc. in effort to sustain a competitive advantage in the marketplace for our organization
Oversee all aspects of large procurement opportunities with vendors relating to product in all brands
Oversee and manage freight costs and logistics contracts both domestically and internationally
Balance Sales/Customer deadlines with Vendor/Partner timelines to optimize and reduce inbound freight costs
DISTRIBUTION CENTER LEADERSHIP:
Ensure policies and practices are in place and adhered to in order to protect Baudville? s $2 Million of inventory.
Identify, create & train on best in class processes to increase department performance, efficiency, profitability, & safety
Carry forward and strive to find new ways to elevate our ?Gold Service Standards? and organizational commitment to deliver a superior experience to our customer?s which balances speed, quality, efficiency, and accuracy
Create, maintain, and publish production capacity and resource allocation schedules to optimize workforce planning & utilization
Foster a safe working environment for all employees following and adhering to all OSHA Rules and Regulations
Create and maintain a culture of cleanliness where the distribution center can proudly be ?Customer Tour Worthy? at all times
Establish, maintain, and take the lead on executing a Business Contingency and Disaster Recovery Plan for the Distribution Center and other impacted operational areas.
GRAPHICS LEADERSHIP:
Provide leadership to the Graphics Supervisor and a Department of Production Artists & Graphics Support Reps who are responsible for creating customer proofs, receiving client approval, and making art production ready for internal & external operations to occur
Stay up to date with latest technology, processes, & trends within the make art ready (pre-production) industry
Create, maintain, and publish department capacity and resource allocation schedules to optimize workforce planning & utilization
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance performance, efficiency, service levels, etc.
GENERAL LEADERSHIP:
Assist with the recruitment, qualification, selection, onboarding, training, & development off all downline department professionals
Create, foster & maintain an environment of cross-department collaboration, knowledge sharing / learning, and support
Become an active participant and contributor to the Baudville Brands? Management Team - seek to develop a partnership mentality with one?s peers
Develop and lead a Safety Committee that is responsible for identifying, training, implementing & overseeing best practices that will foster a safe workplace
Create, foster, & maintain an environment of data & analytical decision making for all teams and departments within one?s area of influence
Develop, maintain, and publish department KPI?s, goals, and performance benchmarks for team members and Sr. Leadership.
Establish and maintain a meeting rhythm with one?s managers to review goals, tasks, obstacles, constraints, & key initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor?s Degree in Business or Related Field. Experience 7+ years of Operations, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and/or Purchasing Leadership. Proven history of progressive promotion and career development.
Initiative: Must be able to prioritize and demonstrate an ability to change priorities when the situation requires. Must be able to handle variations in workload. Must be able to make independent decisions quickly and handle a heavy workload.
Interpersonal Communications: Must have a professional and helpful manner. Must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; graciously deal with all types of employees, vendors and customers. Strong listening skills. Work harmoniously and effectively with others.
Supervision: Supervision of medium?large sized teams required. Supervision over multiple departments is preferred.
Travel: Ability to periodically travel within the US & occasionally internationally.
