Position Summary:
This is an OVERNIGHT position. Possibility to move to FT . Responsible for accurately performing night audit procedures and responding in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services.
Essential Functions:
Greet and complete established check-in procedures for arriving guests on a daily basis, using other manual and computerized methods, in order to ensure guest are satisfied and in rooms as requested.
Facilitate guest departure on a daily basis by following established manual and computer procedures in order to close guest accounts and open the room for the next sell.
Answer inquiries and accepts reservations, in a courteous manner.
Answer telephones promptly and courteously. Route calls appropriately.
Ensure daily charges have been posted to the appropriate guest folio or master account.
Post room tax to each guest folio.
Ensure that all charges and adjustments have been posted and balanced out.
Ensure all appropriate reports have been run and supporting documentation attached.
Inform accounting of any problems.
Accurately communicate hotel rate and information by using suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy and revenue.
Enthusiastically sell property. Offer information on all property facilities and amenities.
Maintain good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on telephone.
Communicate with other departments to fulfill guest needs.
Drive Company vans for guests when required.
Communicate with the next shift to pass on necessary information.
Calculate and/or post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using accurate, proper cash handling methods and established procedures in order to present the customer with timely and precise hotel charges upon check-out and maintain accurate hotel records.
Obtain form of payment for all registered guests. Approval codes on all credit cards and personal checks.
Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintains complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy.
Maintain keys in secure area.
Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
Keep work area neat and organized.
Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Possession of government required licenses or certificates.
Basic math skills and prior cash handling experience.
Ability to:
Handle many tasks at one time and work well under pressure.
Work with minimum supervision.
Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Work as part of a team.
Communicate effectively.
Read and follow both verbal and written instructions.
Work any day of the week and any hour.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $13.50 /hour
Required education:
High school or equivalent
