Principal Software Engineer Job Opening in Reston, Virginia - Do you want to work hard alongside talented designers, engineers, and product experts every day? A commercial software company located out in Reston, VA needs a Principal Software Engineer to add to the team. In this role, you will be at the helm of projects for some of the biggest brands in the world, and delivering cutting-edge experiences.
You will work with system engineers, developers, SMEs, and end users to assess and provision functionalities into an on-line suite of applications and services, leveraging their content management system used by companies like Politico and Coca-Cola. Specific focus will be on system interoperability, performance, and user requirements. The candidate should be comfortable with learning new technology, developing best practices and procedures, and documenting findings and recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of Java development experience in a Linux environment
Spring and Hibernate
REST and Soap
BS or MS in Computer Science or the like
AWS
CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins would make a candidate stand up
Big Data experience woudl be nice to have (Spark, Hive, Hadoop, Pig, etc.)
NoSQL databases would be great as well (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MariaDB etc.)
