Sales Manager Job Opening in Portland, Maine - A leading products company in Boston seeks a highly entrepreneurial Sales Manager to launch and grow sales of a new paper/material product to the healthcare/medical and consumer goods industry. This product has unique anti-bacterial inhibiting properties which make it a game changer for the industry. The product has just been developed and has small sales at the current time, but has great potential. This Sales Manager is needed to work cross functionally with marketing, R&D, and operations to develop a sales strategy, identify target customers, develop a call plan, and penetrate new and existing healthcare/consumer accounts. This involves educating healthcare related/consumer professionals, developing sales relationships with key influencers, constructing an annual sales business plan, collecting competitive intelligence, developing pricing strategies, and identifying new product development opportunities. In short, this position will drive a new product introduction for a revolutionary new product. This will impact future sales and profitability for the company. The company is international and has great financials. The position reports to the Dir. of Sales. This is a new position. This is a great opportunity to build a business from scratch which can and will provide great upward career mobility.
This Sales Manager position can be based anywhere in the United States.
Requirements:
7 to 15 years? experience in B2B industrial sales in a blue-chip company
experience with technical products and processes
entrepreneurial/new product mentality
healthcare/medical product sales strongly preferred
strong business acumen
proactive, high-energy
experience and ability to operate in a cross functional/matrix organization
team player, collaborative mentality critical
strong leadership skills
ability to travel 50% plus
BA required
Location: flexible
Travel: 50 to 60%
