Quality Focus*
Organizes programs, policies, and procedures that are developed to assess, evaluate, and meet the needs of patients of inpatient psychiatric services and outpatient clinics.
Implements standards of nursing practice in the behavioral healthcare setting.
Ensure all patients are assessed in an effective and timely manner.
Ensure all patients have individualized care plans that are implemented in an effective and timely manner.*
Daily monitor and improve quality measures.
Ensure clinical meetings are effective and efficient.
Collaborate with hospital leaders in developing, implementing, reviewing, revising, and monitoring hospital wide performance improvement activities.
Work with the hospital administrator to effectively implement the hospital?s quality assurance program.
Work with the hospital administrator to manage all liability issues.
Ensure the hospital is sufficiently staffed to provide quality excellence while also being prudent with the hospital?s limited resources.
With the hospital administrator, implement effective policies and procedures to ensure the patients? safety, quality care, and well-being.
Maintain regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards.

Ensure all patients and families have an ILEE experience.

Ensure the nursing department prudently manages its financial resources tied to the staff, supplies, and related expenses, while ensuring high quality care and services.
With the hospital administrator, participates in the annual budget process and quarterly business reviews.
Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is required to effectively manage, direct, and administer the nursing department in accordance with company policies and procedures, standard nursing practices, and governmental regulations so as to maintain quality care for all patients and a positive working environment for all staff. The Director of Nursing may be required to perform other duties as required. This is a full time position requiring the employee to work forty or more hours each week.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Current state nursing license.
BSN/RN; Master?s degree preferred.
Five or more years of management experience in an inpatient healthcare environment, preferably in behavioral health.
A.D.A ((Americans with Disabilities Act) (as amended)) Requirements
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling for extended periods. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Skill
Must ?stay in character? while performing duties and interacting with patients, families, customers, and staff.
Must be skilled in the practice and supervision of nursing and nursing systems.
Must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments.
Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
This is a supervisory position. Employee is required to handle employees in a manner that assists them in their ability to function effectively.
Must be knowledgeable of and follow the Nurse Practice Act as well as all state and federal regulations and guidelines.
Must have the skills to plan, organize, prioritize, problem solve, and make decisions that are necessary for providing quality patient care.
Working Conditions
Environment: Skilled nursing, behavioral health medical environment. Work is sometimes sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 75% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. The lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Physical Activity Requirements: Employees must be aware that during the normal, routine performances of the essential functions, certain body movements may occur naturally although they may not be a requirement of the job. The more frequent body movements include: standing, sitting, walking, handling, balancing, changing position, reaching, stooping, lifting/lowering, carrying, pushing/pulling, etc. The employee is required to use assistance (for example: mechanical lifts or request staff assistance) when attempting to assist, lift or carry objects over 25 lbs. Other body movements may occur naturally during the everyday duties of the position.
