AOI is a Commercial General Contractor with over 30 years of building experience and we have an opening for a lead to join our Omaha construction team.
Projects include new construction, tenant build outs, and remodels for retail, commercial office, restaurant, technology and healthcare clients. This role calls for a "working" superintendent who can self perform on carpentry portion of project. Commercial experience and availability to travel is a plus, but not required.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise the work on the jobsite to meet project expectations.
Oversee subcontractors to successfully complete projects according to contract requirements.
Schedule, confer, work with and direct project personnel.
Read and interpret construction documents, drawings and specifications.
Plan, assign and direct site activities.
Layout and quality management.
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited or no standardization exists.
Work with and communicate effectively with architects, engineers and owners.
Interpret a variety of instructions and owner concepts furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Effectively direct employees and subcontractors in a professional and respectful manner.
Maintain and promote a safe working environment.
Self-motivated, punctual, accountable, and able to set reasonable goals for self and others.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred.
Minimum one year related experience and/or training required.
Minimum three years related carpentry experience required. Interior commercial carpentry experience preferred.
Valid and current Nebraska/Iowa driver's license required.
