Software Support Analyst Job Opening in new york, New York - Software Support Analyst SOFTWARE SUPPORT ANALYST Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Full Time, Employee Pay Rate: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 /year Company Description: Blue Curve Jovus develop, install, support and manage innovative software products that help financial markets firms improve complex workflow processes. We're experts in helping firms to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Financial Research Production. We're looking for someone to join our team of experienced software engineers, located in New York and London, to meet the demand of our growing, international customer base. Located in New York, you'll be providing in-depth support and assistance to financial services firms on the use of our products as they produce financial research for their customers. Responsibilities: - Analyse and independently identify often-complex problems within the software or a client's data. - Exercise independent judgment to determine the appropriate course of action to be taken based on the analysis performed and all possible solutions. - Take the appropriate course of action critical to the customer's operation of the software or system in order to remedy problems and issues identified. - Provide emergency support during non-business hours per company policy. - Document all analysis and actions for all Support calls. - Testing and deploying software updates to production systems. Required: - Excellent English language oral and written communication skills. - Ability to balance multiple priorities. - Display dependable, punctual and professional demeanour. - Significant experience troubleshooting proprietary software. - Experience with Java, SQL Server, Web applications, and similar technologies. - Must be client service oriented. - Possess strong problem solving skills. - Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. - Maintain a positive attitude. Preferred: - BS in Computer Science, or 2 to 3 Years Equivalent Experience. - 2 years Technical Support/Help Desk Experience. - Experience supporting client server or web-based applications. - Experience running SQL statements, SQL queries, and/or restoring databases. - Preference for knowledge of Microsoft Technologies and Visual Studio.
