Sr Staff Accountant Job Opening in Richardson, Texas - Exciting opportunity to join Accounting Firm in Richardson, TX as we venture into new territories! The Sr Staff Accountant manages a team of bookkeepers and payroll staff, while overseeing the management of clients? books.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded professional who adapts well to constant changes and new priorities in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Meet and greet new clients to understand their business and accounting
Set up the book for each new client
Oversee the management of each client?s book, and manage a team of bookkeepers and payroll staff
Responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements
Prepare and reviews budgets, revenue and expenses, bank reconciliations, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents and entries, and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary.
Reviews and/or processes billing/invoicing
Conducts basic financial analysis
Follows accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing the company's financial interests are protected
Creating and updating financial models for potential projects, acquisitions, asset management decisions, and results.
Completes various financial, accounting, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
WHAT YOU SHOULD'VE DONE OR KNOW ALREADY:
The responsibilities described above
General accounting knowledge across different industries
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
CPA preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Quick Books, and other accounting softwares
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training including 3+ years of professional level accounting experience, preferably 3+ years of experience in general accounting, A/P, A/R clerical and/or entry level accountant positions
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations
Experience with automated accounting and financial management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively with management, employees, and auditors; must have the ability to convey financial issues to non-financial users
