Senior Accountant Job Opening in Plano, Texas - Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant position is responsible for serving as a team member in the Finance Department and creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization.
Position Objective:
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the other staff members under the Corporate Controller's direction with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Preparing and maintaining working papers
Creating and posting general ledger entries
Preparing account reconciliations
Preparing various financial and management reports
Prepare and maintain fixed assets
Cash management/Treasury functions
Other duties as assigned
Functional Responsibilities and Duties:
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the following additional responsibilities and duties:
Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
Helps establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhances the company value.
Creates documentation of accounting procedures
Assists, as needed, with accounts payable activities.
Respond to Corporate Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate reporting needs.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Requirements:
Education:
A bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting. Relevant, significant experience may serve as a substitute for the education requirement.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role of a mid-sized business, preferably in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. 1-3 years of experience in Network Services, Managed Services, Cloud Services, and/or Information Technology.
In addition, the following experience is desirable:
Advanced experience with Excel (i.e. Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Etc.)
Experience with Microsoft GP Dynamics general ledger system
Experience in expense management and analysis
Experience in utilizing performance indicator metrics
Travel:
The Senior Accountant may need to travel up to 10%, as business requires (minimal)
