Cost/Financial Analyst Job Opening in New Ulm, Minnesota - Beacon Promotions, Inc. is a leader in the promotional products industry, and has a great opportunity for someone to join our Finance Team as an Production Control Coordinator/Cost Accountant. This person will be responsible for performing accounting functions relating to the pricing structure of the company's products, along with investigating material and labor variances. Summary/Objective The Production Control Coordinator/Cost Accountant is a two part position. The Production Control side of the position is responsible for setting up and maintaining the part numbering structure and how materials flow through the factory floor and the computer system. Within the Cost Accounting role, this position is responsible for performing accounting functions relating to the pricing structure of the company?s products along with investigating material and labor variances occurring on work orders and assisting with month end closing duties.

Develop first draft of pricing for catalogs, working with the CFO and Marketing department for competitive analysis. Develop other pricing as needed.
Analyze sales data and monitor calendar and planner inventory levels and make recommendations for print runs.
Maintain a current knowledge of plant capabilities, the product line, and computer system.
Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
Create inventory parts, Order Entry parts and engineering masters in the computer system for stockline and custom items.
Run costing utilities and post manufacturing journals daily. Investigate large variances to standard costs.
Update labor and burden rates and update standard material costs in the system.
Assist Controller to coordinate close out process.
Record and publish efficiencies. Analyze efficiencies and rates. Make recommendations to management for rate changes.
Coordinate the cycle counting process.
Develop extended pricing for catalog items.
Monitor WIP jobs. Close aging WIP orders. Reconcile inventory to G/L

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices and MS Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS Excel.
