Outside Sales Representative Job Opening in Summerville, South carolina - FLSA: Salary Exempt. Work hours are over 40+ per week. Frequent travel required with occasional overnight stays.
General Summary of the Position:
Markets and sells precast concrete products to the construction industry market .
Essential Functions:
Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
Submit orders by referring to pricing information.
Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
Recommends changes in products, services, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
Resolves customer complaint by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed .
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
2 years professional selling experience in the precast concrete industry, or related field in the building materials industry.
Strong presentation, communication, organization, and time management skills.
Self motivated and results oriented.
Working technical knowledge of precast concrete manufacturing and construction site application of finished product.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite; required to learn software programs oriented to company specific sales, production and customer service.
Qualifications:
At least an Associate?s degree or at least 2 years of sales experience in precast concrete industry, or related fields.
Valid Driver?s License with a submittal of a driving transcript.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
General: Computer operated equipment, office tools & automobiles.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working in an office & field service environment with minor exposure to the production environment. Offices are a controlled air conditions with quite work spaces. Plant and jobsites will have ambient air-conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Can be exposed to dirty and dusty conditions at times while at jobsites.
