Status: Full time, Exempt
Hours: Mon ? Fri 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with the flexibility to work some nights & weekends
Reports To: Director of Finance
Primary Function of this Position
The primary function of the Director of Sales & Marketing is to direct all aspects of sales including analyzing and achieving strategic objectives and growth potential.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement marketing and sales plans based on revenue goals, knowledge of mission, customer needs, and market trends and analytics
Lead, motivate, train, monitor and manage sales staff as well as achieve team and organizational goals
Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets
Prepare and present annual sales and marketing plans with quarterly updates
Partner with Operations and the Director of Finance in developing, mapping and designing new sections within new areas of our cemeteries
Ensure that customers and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere and recognizes individuals? needs
Enlist and utilize all avenues of advertisement (The Pilot, church bulletins, kiosks, social media, etc.) as a means of communication to existing and prospective customers
Work collaboratively with department heads to emphasize operations? role in sales and marketing
Assures that Sales/Marketing reports are timely, accurate and complete
Works with the Director of Finance with regard to sales from a fiscal standpoint. This includes establishing a sales forecast and setting the pricing of goods and services
Assists in reporting surveys to further the understanding of our customers? needs
Participates in sales and operations meeting, trade shows, and expositions
Develop, order and distribute all pamphlets, forms, signage and other supplies, as needed.
Performs all other duties as requested by the Executive Director and Director of Finance
Requirements
Must have proven selling experience. This is a salaried position with earned commission based on sales
Frequent travel to Catholic Cemetery Association cemeteries and parish cemeteries under the Archdiocese of Boston
Some after-hours required for coverage support, trade shows and expos
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, problem solving and listening skills
Ability to take initiative and function independently in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and organize work effectively and efficiently
Strong knowledge of the mechanics of sales and knowledge of the various product lines
Must be highly proficient with computers and software programs including MS Office
