Director of Business Development, Regenerative Medicine Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - ORIG3N is seeking a Director of Business Development, Regenerative Medicine in our Boston Headquarters.
Founded in 2014, ORIG3N exists at the intersection of biological science and emerging technology. Our research team uses cutting-edge cellular science to develop personalized therapies for repairing tissue damage and treating disease. We are focused on cell therapy programs in a variety of indications, leveraging our fully-consented, HLA-matched cell bank.
We are seeking an innovative partnership and alliances professional, with a proven pharma/biotech business development track record, who enjoys learning new things in an exciting and fast-paced environment. The Director of Business Development, Regenerative Medicine will report to the VP of Business Development, Regenerative Medicine, and will support our Business Development and Legal teams, working collaboratively with in-house scientists, external networks of collaborative partners and licensing offices to provide support for business transactions and alliance management for our dynamic and innovative biotechnology company. The ideal candidate for the Director of Business Development, Regenerative Medicine position has a demonstrated track record of successful partnerships and alliance management, and has driven innovative deals from start to close. An entrepreneurial spirit is a must. We are looking for someone who is a strong team player and has a passion for and experience with creating something from scratch.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Business Development and Alliance Management
Provide business and transaction support, identifying and negotiating potential out-licensing and cross-licensing partners
Assist Business Development and Legal teams to define strategic partnership options, review and provide input on scientific proposals, evaluate business cases, negotiate business terms of agreements, engage executive leadership and drive to decisions
Develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts with other business development individuals in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry
Work collaboratively with team members across a diverse range of projects to build rapport, and establish credibility and trust, with new and existing partners
Own partner expectations and satisfaction, including providing support for issue resolution and action follow-up
Engage in open collaboration, teamwork and communication to ensure a consistent approach and experience for our partners
Qualifications:
4+ years of relevant experience, with transactional business development and support experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology sector
MBA, MS and PhD candidates with appropriate experience considered
Highly motivated, goal oriented, diligent, strategic, attentive to detail, self-starter
Proven strength in engaging diverse interests and fostering strategic consideration of alternatives among various stakeholders, leading to business agreements
Ability to manage contrasting interests and opinions toward conflict resolution
Strong strategic and business acumen
Superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
Has, or is able to rapidly acquire, in-depth knowledge of cell therapy discovery and development
Ability to work collaboratively on teams and independently when necessary
Travel to attend major industry conferences and visit prospective partners
Consistently delivers on commitments in a timely manner
Excellent organization, attention to detail and negotiation skills
