House Manager Job Opening in Louisville, Kentucky - General Description of Position Responsibilities:
The House Manager (HM) is directly responsible for the activities of the service areas of the Clubhouse, which includes both formal and casual dining, special event rooms, outdoor dining areas and poolside service.
The HM will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the service training programs for food and beverage service personnel, to include determination of service standards and a system to monitor and improve service quality and efficiency.
The HM is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective program of employee recognition and reward, to ensure a high degree of employee morale.
The HM is required to maintain a high degree of daily member interface and contact.
The successful candidate should be comfortable and confident in this highly visible role.
The HM works closely with the Executive Chef/ Kitchen Manager as well as other department heads on a daily basis to coordinate and lead the activities of the Clubhouse, golf & tennis tournaments, swim meets and special events.
The HM is also the key staff contact to the Entertainment and House Committees; coordinating special social and entertainment events, booking bands and entertainment as well as marketing all events to membership. Administrative responsibilities include the monitoring of operating and capital budgets for all under the position?s control. This includes regular monitoring of labor costs and operating results, preparations of variance reports, and development of corrective actions when needed.
The HM is responsible for the execution of all member special events and non-member functions including; wedding receptions, business meetings and corporate parties.
Candidate Qualifications:
A person with strong, interpersonal skills, a commitment to service, impeccable attention to detail and a personal and professional self-confidence to lead others is critically important. Candidates must develop a professional work environment in which the team always comes first. Candidates should have the ability to write reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of members, guests and/or employees of the Club is important. Ability to use standard accounting, word processing, and presentation software in preparation of reports, marketing materials and related administrative duties. General understanding of standard point of sale computer systems specific to the Club industry and the ability to deal with problems in a professional manner.
Educational/Work Experience Qualifications:
Candidate would preferably have obtained an undergraduate college degree with an emphasis on or Business Management plus 5 years-related experience and/or training.
