Summary:
The Community Outreach Specialist for the Healthcare Administration programs is responsible for proactively developing, growing, and retaining strategic, long term partnerships with new and existing corporate clients. This outreach position supports the BS and MS Healthcare Administration programs. Reporting directly to the Healthcare Administration Program Director, the outreach position role will consist of working with healthcare organizations and to educate and recruit students. The individual will coordinate efforts with the marketing and admissions teams to ensure a unified message and promotion of CityU's mission, vision and values
This position also will lead all outreach efforts resulting in the establishment of corporate partnerships for assigned programs utilizing cold calling, face-to-face, networking and other relationship building resources. Working in conjunction with Academic Departments and the Admissions team, coordinate and implement outreach strategies and activities. The COS will represent City University of Seattle to such external constituents as private and public schools, community colleges, businesses, healthcare organizations, trade organizations, government, non-profit organizations, professional organizations, unions, and other organized groups.
This individual will be responsible for working with and building relationships with select groups of clients and prospective clients to ensure clients are dealt with professionally, effectively, with team members to reach and maintain revenue goals and at the same time promote the CityU of Seattle mission, vision and values to the company and to its employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Responsible for corporate outreach, community contacts and business development by working in coordination with the Program Director of the Healthcare Administration Programs in identifying potential partnership opportunities resulting in recruitment of students to the BSHA and MSHA programs.
Conduct information sessions for potential students and participate in client-sponsored events and activities.
Attend networking events to develop industry and community contacts.
Provide routine updates to management on outreach and partnership activities and meet with supervisor for planning direction, when required.
Plan, organize work, and manage internal procedures and resources to ensure proper recording of data and successful obtainment of lead generation and outreach and partnership goals are met.
Represent the University to external constituents, meeting with and offering presentations aimed at generating partnerships and offsite programs.
Organize all lead generating events for assigned areas.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree in relevant field required; Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and connect those to plans for offsite programs.
Ability to present a professional image in the community on behalf of City University.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated high energy and passion for success.
Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent networking skills.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative work environment. Work well with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively to small or large groups and respond to questions from diverse groups of students, staff, faculty, community organizations, and the general public.
Proficiency with MS Office products, experience with PeopleSoft and CRM preferred.
A current, valid Washington State driver's license
