Junior Building Energy Analyst Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - Junior Building Energy Analyst: Energy Efficiency Program Monitoring and Evaluation. On-Site Assessment Services. GSM Development is looking for two individuals to each be part of two two-person teams to execute on-site assessments of previously implemented energy efficiency measures during the months of July (for training) and August and some of September (site assessments) assessments will be conducted throughout the state of Maryland. Paid training will be provided during the month of July. Travel expenses, including possible overnight stays, will be reimbursed. Specific activities include:
Work with resident to complete survey questions.
Record the make and model of installed energy efficient appliances and equipment.
Count installed energy efficient lighting * Use supplied equipment to measure flow rates of low flow shower heads
Visually inspect and measure the insulation around pipes, ductwork, etc.
Determine the quality of installation of equipment
Utilize a door blower to evaluate air tightness
Prepare post assessment report.
A majority of the sites will be in eastern Maryland. The assessments will be grouped and coordinated to minimize travel . Assessments in western Maryland may require staying overnight. Required experience: Qualified experience should be equivalent to that of building energy Experience with home energy products, especially HVAC experience, is important. Good people skills are important as some discussions with resident will be required. Experience with energy audits (for example, using a door blower to identify air leakage) is desired. Technical education (2 year is acceptable) is desired with some experience installing, maintaining HVAC. During the assessments, the candidate will need to be able to assess if the HVAC is properly installed and functioning. The experience could have come from a summer job. The ideal candidate will have a background in:
Technical education (2 year minimum), Engineering, or technical degree.
Organizational and logistical aptitude.
Customer-facing experience.
Able to pass a background check.
Prior field building energy usage data collection experience.
Safety training.
Rate: Up to $25 per hour.
Timeframe: Training will occur in July, Assessments in August and September.
