Customer Service Representative/ Employee Benefits Job Opening in Medfield, Massachusetts - Benemax is a leading employee benefits firm located in Medfield, MA. We handle benefit administration and claims processing for client companies and plan members, helping them get the most for their benefit dollars.
The role of the Customer Service Rep is to help members navigate the healthcare system by resolving claims and benefit issues and by educating members on how to get the most benefit from their coverage.
Customer Service Rep responsibilities
Provide concierge-level support to customers and clients via phone and email.
Acknowledge all customer service requests within 24 hours
Document all customer service interactions
Function as an advocate for members
Provide timely, accurate information regarding benefits and claims to plan members and their healthcare providers.
Act as a liaison between plan member, healthcare provider, pharmacy, insurer and HR, as necessary and appropriate, to resolve problems quickly and completely.
Correspond with members and healthcare providers as necessary.
Develop and nurture relationships with plan members and healthcare providers.
Process claims when necessary or appropriate.
Research difficult claim issues.
Report customer service trends to management
Escalate unusual situations to management?s attention
Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure a seamless experience for the plan member
Help train new employees in the IMA department.
Answer general incoming phone calls on a rotating basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Customer Service Rep skills and experience
Prior healthcare administration or customer service experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to prioritize
Solid computer skills and experience with contemporary business software, e.g., MS Office
Accuracy and attention to detail
High School diploma required, some college preferred.
